Our Furniture The Company Press

Brett Smith

Brett Smith creates minimalist, modern furniture that is both functional and beautiful. By handcrafting each piece with the least amount of materials to achieve its function – and allowing the negative space to highlight the material – Smith achieves an austere aesthetic that harkens back to the days of George Nakishima, Alexander Calder, and Philip Johnson, while stepping into the future.

As a self-taught craftsman, Smith is not constrained by convention. His pieces may include traditional, highly figured wood, high-gloss laminate, mesquite from the Arizona deserts, or end grain Baltic birch plywood. On their own, many of the materials Smith uses may not be considered classically beautiful, but when combined with cutting-edge design and Smith’s skills as a woodworker, they become stunning works of art that meet his clients’ need for form and function.

Daniel Germani

Daniel grew up in Buenos Aires, Argentina’s cultural capital. During his formative years as an Architect, his aesthetic was shaped by the Bauhaus, Richard Neimeyer, Le Corbusier, Mies and Frank Lloyd Wright.

He left Argentina in 1988 to work in Rome and Madrid and travel through Europe for several years. In 1998 he packed his bags again and moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he received a MIM from Thunderbird, The Global School of Management. Almost 9 years after, he still lives in Phoenix and from here he spends his time between his three passions: furniture design, corporate branding and architecture.
